BancFirst Corporation operates as a regional bank holding company serving retail customers and small to medium-sized businesses across Oklahoma. The company offers a broad range of deposit products including checking, savings, money market, and retirement accounts, as well as certificates of deposit and cash management services. Its lending portfolio encompasses commercial real estate, construction and development, residential real estate, agricultural, commercial and industrial, energy, and consumer loans, with additional focus on private banking and specialized lending activities.

The company's operations are organized into five segments: BancFirst Metropolitan Banks, BancFirst Community Banks, Pegasus, Worthington, and Other Financial Services. Beyond core banking, BancFirst provides trust and investment management services for individuals, corporations, and employee benefit plans. The company also operates as a bond trustee and paying agent for Oklahoma municipalities and governmental entities, offers correspondent banking services to financial institutions, and maintains an insurance agency division.

With 2,260 full-time employees and headquarters in Oklahoma City, BancFirst maintains a focused geographic presence across Oklahoma, concentrating on non-metropolitan trade centers and cities within the state's metropolitan statistical areas. The company was incorporated in Oklahoma in 1984 and changed its name to BancFirst Corporation in 1988.
