About Core Natural Resources, Inc.

Core Natural Resources, Inc. is a coal producer that extracts, processes, and exports metallurgical and thermal coal from surface and underground mining operations across the United States. The company supplies both domestic and international markets through a diversified portfolio of mines and infrastructure assets developed since its founding in 1864.

The company operates four primary business segments. The High CV Thermal segment includes the Pennsylvania Mining Complex and the West Elk mine in Colorado, producing high-heat-content coal for power generation. The Metallurgical segment comprises five underground mines in West Virginia—Leer, Leer South, Beckley, Mountain Laurel, and Itmann—which produce coal for steel manufacturing. The Powder River Basin segment operates two surface mining complexes in Wyoming, Black Thunder and Coal Creek, representing the company's largest volume operations. The Core Marine Terminal segment runs a coal export facility at the Port of Baltimore, providing logistics infrastructure for international shipments.

The company employs approximately 4,850 full-time workers and maintains headquarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Operations span multiple states, with significant production capacity in the Appalachian region and Western United States. The company was previously known as CONSOL Energy Inc. and adopted its current name in January 2025.
