The company serves business, government, and individual customers through three primary segments: Commercial Banking, which offers credit intermediation, cash management, lending, foreign exchange services, and capital markets solutions; Consumer and Small Business Banking, which provides deposit and loan products, residential mortgage origination and servicing, home equity lines of credit, credit cards, and indirect auto lending; and Wealth and Asset Management, which delivers wealth planning, investment management, trust services, and institutional advisory services.

The Commercial Banking segment serves mid-sized to large businesses and government entities with services including real estate finance, public finance, commercial leasing, and syndicated lending. The Consumer and Small Business Banking segment addresses household and small enterprise banking needs, with particular emphasis on residential mortgage activities and home improvement lending through contractor networks. The Wealth and Asset Management segment serves high-net-worth individuals, institutional clients, and not-for-profit organizations through trust and estate administration, investment management, and retail brokerage services.

The company operates with approximately 18,676 full-time employees and maintains a regional footprint concentrated in the Midwest and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
