Globalstar operates a mobile satellite communications network providing two-way voice and data services across the Americas, Europe, and internationally. The company delivers duplex satellite communications equipment and services for remote business continuity, emergency response, recreational usage, and safety applications. Its product portfolio includes the SPOT family of personal locator devices (SPOT X, SPOT Gen4, and SPOT Trace), which transmit emergency alerts and location information, alongside commercial Internet of Things devices designed to track assets such as cargo containers, rail cars, and utility infrastructure, or monitor oil and gas operations.

The company serves diverse end markets including recreation and personal use, government agencies, maritime, construction, transportation, mining, agriculture, forestry, and emergency services. Revenue streams encompass satellite service subscriptions, hardware sales through retailers and its FindMeSpot e-commerce platform, and engineering services. Globalstar also licenses its terrestrial spectrum and develops specialized satellite transmitter modules and chips that enable third-party integrators to access its network infrastructure.

Based in Covington, Louisiana, the company operates with approximately 389 full-time employees and maintains a geographically distributed customer base across North America, Central and South America, and Europe. Globalstar was incorporated in Delaware and founded in 1993.
