Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc. is a mortgage REIT that invests in and manages a diversified portfolio of mortgage-backed securities and mortgage-related assets. The company acquires residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), including both government-guaranteed instruments issued or sponsored by U.S. agencies and non-agency securities. Additionally, the firm invests in U.S. Treasury securities, real estate-related financing arrangements, and commercial mortgage loans, along with forward contracts for to-be-announced mortgage securities.

The company's revenue is generated through net interest income derived from its mortgage and Treasury holdings, gains or losses on securities sales, and other investment-related activities. As a REIT, Invesco Mortgage Capital is required to distribute at least 90% of its taxable income to shareholders annually, which substantially determines its capital allocation and dividend policy.

The company operates from its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and maintains a focused investment strategy centered on the U.S. mortgage market. Invesco Mortgage Capital was incorporated in Maryland in 2008 and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
