An integrated electric utility, Korea Electric Power Corporation generates, transmits, and distributes electricity throughout South Korea while maintaining a smaller international presence. The company operates across the full electricity value chain, from power generation through transmission infrastructure to retail distribution to residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and public sector customers.

The company's generation portfolio encompasses nuclear, coal, oil, liquefied natural gas, combined-cycle, hydroelectric, wind, solar, and fuel cell facilities, with total installed capacity of approximately 85,424 megawatts across 848 generation units as of December 2024. Its transmission network spans 35,856 circuit kilometers of lines at various voltages, supported by 925 substations, while the distribution system encompasses 547,850 circuit kilometers of lines and over 10 million support structures serving end-use customers.

Beyond core utility operations, the company provides engineering and construction services for utility infrastructure, facility maintenance, meter reading, and security services. It also operates ancillary businesses including nuclear fuel handling, fly ash recycling, utility plant construction and operation, and wood pellet production. Founded in 1898, the company is headquartered in Naju-Si, South Korea, and is among South Korea's largest utilities by installed capacity.
