The company's product portfolio extends to industrial chemicals including creosote, carbon pitch, naphthalene, and phthalic anhydride, which serve as feedstocks and raw materials in aluminum production, steel manufacturing, rubber processing, and construction applications.

The business is organized into three operating segments: Railroad and Utility Products and Services, which handles treated wood products and related infrastructure services; Performance Chemicals, which supplies wood preservatives and fire-retardant treatments; and Carbon Materials and Chemicals, which produces and supplies carbon-derived products. Koppers serves railroad operators, electric and telephone utilities, specialty chemical manufacturers, residential lumber distributors, and agricultural, aluminum, steel, and construction sectors.

The company operates with approximately 2,082 full-time employees and maintains a geographic footprint spanning the United States, Australasia, Europe, and other international markets. Koppers is incorporated in Pennsylvania and headquartered in Pittsburgh.
