A diversified financial holding company, Morgan Stanley provides capital markets, wealth management, and investment services to institutional clients, governments, and high-net-worth individuals across six continents. The company operates through three primary segments: Institutional Securities, which encompasses investment banking, equity and fixed income sales and trading, prime brokerage, and market-making services; Wealth Management, serving affluent clients through financial advisors, brokerage platforms, and lending products; and Investment Management, offering asset management solutions across equities, fixed income, alternatives, and liquidity services.

The Institutional Securities segment serves corporations, financial institutions, and governments with underwriting services for debt and equity securities, merger and acquisition advisory, restructuring advice, and project finance. The Wealth Management division provides comprehensive financial planning, custody, cash management, securities-based lending, and retirement plan administration. Investment Management serves institutional investors including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, and insurance companies across multiple asset classes and strategies.

Morgan Stanley operates with approximately 83,000 full-time employees and maintains a substantial presence across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Incorporated in Delaware and headquartered in New York, the company has maintained operations since its founding in 1924.
