Northfield Bancorp, Inc. operates as the holding company for Northfield Bank, a regional financial institution providing retail and commercial banking services. The bank offers a range of deposit products including passbook accounts, money market savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and transaction accounts. On the lending side, Northfield originates owner-occupied commercial real estate loans, commercial and industrial loans, one-to-four family residential mortgages, construction and land loans, home equity products, and small business loans. The company also maintains an investment portfolio of mortgage-backed securities and corporate bonds.

The bank serves individuals and corporate customers across a defined geographic footprint spanning Richmond and Kings counties in New York, and Hunterdon, Mercer, Union, and Middlesex counties in New Jersey. Deposit gathering and lending represent the primary revenue streams, supplemented by investment securities activity and ancillary banking services. Northfield provides digital banking channels including internet, mobile, and telephone banking alongside traditional in-person services, ATM access, and cash management capabilities such as ACH transfers, wire transfers, positive pay, and remote deposit capture.

Founded in 1887 and headquartered in Woodbridge, New Jersey, Northfield maintains operations focused on the New York and New Jersey market regions.
