About SOUTHERN COPPER CORP/

Southern Copper Corporation operates an integrated copper mining, smelting, and refining business across South America. The company extracts copper ore through open-pit and underground mining operations, then processes the material through milling and flotation to produce copper and molybdenum concentrates. These concentrates are subsequently smelted to produce blister and anode copper, which is refined into copper cathodes for sale. The company also produces molybdenum concentrate, sulfuric acid, and refined precious metals including silver and gold as byproducts of its primary copper operations.

The company's asset base centers on four major operating mines: Toquepala and Cuajone in Peru, and La Caridad and Buenavista in Mexico. Each mine is supported by integrated processing infrastructure including concentrators, smelters, and refineries. Southern Copper additionally operates zinc and lead mining operations and a zinc refinery, along with a coal mine. The company holds concession rights to approximately 156,818 hectares in Peru and 502,688 hectares in Mexico, with exploration concessions in Argentina and Chile totaling 196,653 hectares combined.

Southern Copper operates across five countries in South America and Mexico, positioning it as a regional producer with significant scale in copper production. A subsidiary of Americas Mining Corporation, the company was incorporated in 1952 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
