The Charles Schwab Corporation operates as a savings and loan holding company providing wealth management, securities brokerage, banking, asset management, and financial advisory services across the United States and internationally. The company offers retail brokerage accounts with equity and fixed income trading, margin lending, options trading, futures and forex capabilities, and cash management products including money market funds and certificates of deposit. It also provides access to third-party mutual funds through its Mutual Fund Marketplace and OneSource service, exchange-traded funds, and research tools alongside multichannel customer support and real-time market data.

The company operates through two primary segments: Investor Services and Advisor Services. The Investor Services segment serves individual investors through digital and software-based trading platforms, advisory solutions for managed portfolios and separately managed accounts, and banking products such as checking and savings accounts, residential mortgage loans, and home equity lines of credit. The Advisor Services segment serves financial advisors and includes trust custody services, equity compensation plan recordkeeping for corporations, retirement plan services, and mutual fund clearing services for broker-dealers.

Schwab operates approximately 180 branch offices and employs 33,000 full-time staff members. The company was founded in 1971 and is incorporated in Delaware with headquarters in Westlake, Texas.
