Standard Motor Products manufactures and distributes replacement automotive parts for the aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer segments. It also produces air conditioning and thermal management products such as compressors, condensers, radiators, and electric water pumps, along with associated heating and cooling system components.

The company operates through four primary segments: Vehicle Control, Temperature Control, Nissens Automotive, and Engineered Solutions. The Vehicle Control segment encompasses ignition systems, emissions components, and electrical sensors and switches. Temperature Control handles air conditioning and thermal management products. Nissens Automotive represents the company's thermal components operations. Engineered Solutions provides specialized thermal management and electrification products for commercial vehicles, agriculture, power sports, marine, and other industrial applications.

With approximately 5,600 full-time employees, Standard Motor Products serves a diverse customer base including retailers, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers, and system integrators across the United States and internationally. The company was founded in 1919 and operates from its Long Island City, New York headquarters.
