The company's operations are organized into two main segments. Consumer and Small Business Banking delivers retail deposit products, small business lending, and various consumer credit offerings to individual and small business customers. Wholesale Banking provides services to larger commercial and institutional clients, including asset-based lending, commercial deposit and treasury services, commercial real estate lending, investment banking and capital markets services, institutional trust services, wealth management, and merchant services.

Truist maintains significant scale as a major regional financial institution, employing approximately 37,086 full-time employees across its footprint. The company was formed through the 2019 merger of BB&T Corporation and Suntrust Banks, combining two longstanding regional operators. Truist Financial Corporation was incorporated in North Carolina and maintains headquarters in Charlotte.
