About AMERICAN FINANCIAL GROUP INC

American Financial Group is an insurance holding company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, that underwrites property and casualty insurance across the United States. The company operates primarily through two segments: Property and Casualty Insurance and Other. It distributes its products through a network of independent insurance agents and brokers rather than direct channels.

The Property and Casualty Insurance segment encompasses several product lines. The company offers transportation insurance, including physical damage and liability coverage for buses and trucks along with other specialty transportation niches. It also provides inland and ocean marine insurance, agricultural-related products, and commercial property coverages. The specialty casualty division focuses on excess and surplus insurance, executive and professional liability, general liability, umbrella and excess liability coverage, and customized programs for small to mid-sized businesses and workers compensation insurance.

The specialty financial insurance segment serves lending and leasing institutions with risk management insurance programs, fidelity and surety products, and trade credit insurance. The company operates with approximately 8,500 full-time employees and maintains a substantial scale within the property and casualty insurance sector. Originally founded in 1872, American Financial Group was incorporated in Ohio and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
