About FEDERAL SIGNAL CORP /DE/

Federal Signal Corporation manufactures and supplies specialized equipment and systems for municipal, governmental, industrial, and commercial customers across North America and internationally. The company designs street sweepers, sewer cleaning trucks, industrial vacuum loaders, and safe-digging vehicles, along with waterblasting and road-maintenance equipment marketed under brands including ELGIN, VACTOR, GUZZLER, and TRUVAC. It also produces refuse and recycling collection vehicles through a network of dealers and direct sales channels, with ancillary revenue from parts sales, service and repair, equipment rentals, and operator training.

The company operates through two segments: Environmental Solutions Group, which handles municipal and industrial cleaning equipment, and Safety and Security Systems Group, which provides emergency communication systems, public warning solutions, vehicle lightbars, sirens, and first responder communications equipment under the Federal Signal and Victor brand names. These products reach customers through wholesalers, distributors, independent manufacturer representatives, original equipment manufacturers, and direct sales forces, along with independent foreign distributors.

Founded in 1901 and headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, Federal Signal serves a geographically dispersed customer base spanning the United States, Canada, Europe, and other international markets. The company maintains manufacturing capabilities and sales infrastructure to support both the specialized vehicle production and emergency communications equipment businesses.
