The company operates three primary business segments: Hard Parts, which includes light-duty rotating electrical products such as alternators and starters, along with wheel hub assemblies, bearings, and brake system components including calipers, boosters, rotors, pads, and master cylinders, plus turbochargers; Test Solutions and Diagnostic Equipment, offering bench-top testers for alternators and starters, equipment for electric vehicle pre- and post-production, and software emulation for powertrain electrification applications; and Heavy Duty, providing non-discretionary automotive aftermarket replacement parts for heavy-duty commercial and agricultural applications.

The company distributes its products primarily through automotive retail chains and warehouse distributors across North America, while also supplying original equipment manufacturers for their aftermarket and warranty replacement programs. Motorcar Parts markets its offerings under multiple proprietary and acquired brands, including Private Label, Quality-Built, Pure Energy, D&V Electronics, Dixie Electric, and DelStar. Based in Torrance, California, the company operates with approximately 5,700 full-time employees and serves both the consumer aftermarket and OEM channels throughout North America.
