It also provides cash management, capital markets services, trust and investment management, asset management, and fiduciary services for individuals, estates, and charitable organizations.

The company operates through four primary segments: Wealth, Corporate and Institutional Banking; Consumer and Business Banking; Payment Services; and Treasury and Corporate Support. The Wealth segment delivers asset management, trust, and investment services. Corporate and Institutional Banking serves large enterprises and financial institutions with lending, capital markets, and treasury solutions. Consumer and Business Banking provides retail and small business deposit and lending products. Payment Services encompasses credit card processing, merchant services, ATM operations, and corporate card programs.

With approximately 70,000 full-time employees and headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S. Bancorp operates as a major regional bank with substantial national reach. The company was founded in 1863 and is incorporated in Delaware, with shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
